Wednesday Night Racing (WNR) is organized by the Annapolis Yacht Club (AYC) every Wednesday night from April through late August. Well over 100 boats compete in over 10 different classes each week. The race format is a distance race around drop and government marks starting in the Annapolis Harbor and finishing in Downtown Annapolis just before the Compromise Street Drawbridge at the AYC. It is possibly the largest weekly sailing event held in the US.
We meet at Jabin's Yacht Yard at 5pm (or earlier if possible) to begin rigging the boat and leave the dock no later than 5:30pm.
You may park in any available space in the yard. If we are racing the FARR 30 it is docked in Slip B-23, if racing the Melges 24 it will be docked on the pier to the right of the travel lifts.
Thursday Night Racing (TNR) is organized by the Downtown Sailing Center in Baltimore, MD. Each week a J/22 Spinnaker Class and Sonar Non-Spinnaker Class will race multiple Windward/Leeward races in the Baltimore Inner Harbor. While we are under COVID restrictions, each boat may only sail with a crew of 3 including the skipper.
All skill levels are welcome and we encourage new sailors to sign up! This is an excellent opportunity to get some experience. Also, if you are new to sailing or don't want to race with a spinnaker, sign up to sail in the Sonar Fleet.
US Patriot Sailing will provide personal flotation devices (PFDs) and sailing gloves, bring a water bottle and be sure to wear closed toe shoes.

This year, the entire event, including One Design, PHRF, and Accessible Racing will be on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021. The "YGR" brings the entire region together to raise money for Downtown Sailing's Community and Accessible programs. These programs use sailing as a platform to provide independence, education, and experiential learning for all of our participants.
A distance race, with a scoring gate, is scheduled for Friday. Up to 5 windward/leeward races are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
